A week of sickness

The boys are sick. It's been a long week so far! We found out yesterday that both boys have ear infections and David has the croupe. I really am tired of the boys being sick.

On Tuesday night, we woke up at 11:30pm to the sound of David having trouble breathing. It was the croupe...although we didnt know it at the time. He was just gasping for air. Shane rang his brother, Pete, and got him to come over to stay with Noah while we went to the hospital. Good old Pete to the rescue! Thanks Pete!

We stayed at the hospital from 12-2 until we saw a nurse. By this time, David had been sitting upright for 2 hours, and he was doing much better. It didnt help our case that Dave was now smiling and laughing!!! There we so many ambulances coming into the hospital that the nurse didnt know when we would be able to see a doctor. Dave was breathing ok at this point so we decided to go home and do what could from there. If Dave kept having trouble we were just going to go into the private hospital. Dave was ok and we were able to get into his doctor on Wednesday. The doctor said that if he starts having a croupe cough (like he did on Tuesday) that we have to go back to the hospital. He has been doing really well and last night he slept through the night again even though his breathing is very heavy.

So...it's a rainy Thursday and we are staying warm inside. The boys are pumped full of antibiotics and doing much better. I'm enjoying using my new dryer! I've got a nice pot of stew in the slow cooker-although we found that it has a crack in it. I guess I'll have to get a new one!!! Today is Shane's last day of work this week.....tomorrow is his RDO (regular day off). He gets one a month!! It will be nice to have him home and have some welcomed help during the day.
